I think that's best with the blanks. Is that the whole point? Anyway, just writing to say: I'M BACK!!!! I just wanted to let you all know (well, those of you who were close with me in the past) that I miss you like CRAZY. Cornstalks, Marten, Michael, I never realized how much you guys meant to me until I didn't have you anymore. :(

Resistance is Futile

I haven't posted much because I've been ridiculously busy and most of what I've had to say was deemed too emo for this blog. I've basically been completely assimilated by the college theatre collective, which pretty much takes over the lives of its participants for an indefinate period of time. I calculated that in any given week I spend an average of 36 hours at Freelander. And that's as a freshman who hasn't even declared a major yet. Most of the theatre majors haven't left the building in nearly a year. It's like in Pirates 2 - they're becoming part of the walls.
But nonetheless, it's fun. Lear is actually on it's way to becoming my favorite Shakespeare play. And Clay is the most awesome director I've ever worked with. And eyes get plucked out, which is going to being the coolest thing ever. You can't beat a bit of Shakespearian eye-plucking. The eye-plucking scene is also my death scene, so it's basically the awesomest scene in the show.
The other really awesome things about this show are Lear's fool, played by this tiny, four foot ten junior who is currently completely upstaging the professional actor they hired to play Lear, and Patrick Midgley playing the Earl of Kent as King Lear's bouncer. The scenes with these two together are kind of the most amazing pieces of Shakespeare I have ever scene.
Sorry for all the writing about Theatre, but as I said, I have very little else to blog about.

Haven't you seen "Annie"? They could break out in song and swarm at any minute.

It's always good to know the exact moment in your life in which you are condemned to hell, specifically for the deadly sin of sloth. I spent probably 36 hours of my weekend on a couch watching movies and television. I was done with classes at 2 on Friday, at which time I proceeded to my second home on campus, Westminster Cottage, for a spot of D&D. After that, I at dinner and went to a creepy play about a guy who accidentally killed his sister. Nocturne was very unsettling, there was humor, but he delivered it in such an animated way, I wasn't sure if I was supposed to laugh at it. The guy was really good, though. There was no curtain call, he just did his show and walked off the stage. I guess it's artsy, gives the show time to sink in without distracting the audience by making them applaud. At the end of the show, I headed back to Westminster to watch movies. Unfortunately, we lacked snacks, and David and I ran to a gas station, since the drug mart was closed. Upon our return, we proceeded to sit in front of the television until about 4:30 am. I went home, woke up at 10, went to breakfast/lunch (not to be confused with brunch) and went back to Westminster for more D&D, after which we watched more movies until dinner. After dinner, we melted by the light of the TV until 3. My only real break from liquidating my brain was Sunday's clambake with the philosophy department, which was kind of cool. I played some pretty intense Bocce Ball, which is really funny if you know what bocce ball is. Of course, after that was over, and after I watched a movie for my FYS, I went back to Westminster for more television.

Why, yes, I am made of awesome.

I know it's not actually from a webcomic, but it is from one of Erin's icons, which are both on the web and comical. I am once again procrastinating from a fairly simple assignment to give you all some astonishing news. Nathan has already informed you of the strange direction in which the director is taking King Lear. This strange direction calls for sword fights. These sword fights call for a stunt coordinator. That person is ME! I am choreographing samurai sword fights for King Lear! I=Awesome. That is all.

Nathan needs not new nomenclature

This is my way of renouncing the title scheme. No one else uses one anyway.
I have just been cast in, in the words of our director, a "Post-industrial Samurai version of King Lear." I just needed to put that out there. I'm in the ensemble, I find out Tuesday if I get any lines.
In other news, my luck with the females of Wooster continues to be ridiculously bad (or just ridiculous) to the point where I've decided just to say screw it. I don't need a girlfriend to be happy, and I think one would actually make me less happy at this point. What I need are friends (some of whom happen to be girls.)
Yesterday the Chinese students tried to teach me how to be better at Ping-Pong. It was really fun. Then David, one of the Chinese students, challenged the two Americans at the other table to a two on one match. He ended up losing, but it was still fun to watch.
I end with some advice: If you are ever trying to get over a girl who has a CD on iTunes, don't download it and listen to it over and over again. (This becomes especially akward when she walks in.)
